Minitrekking - Glacial Perito Moreno 

Season: July 15th to May 31st
Duration: Approximately 10 hours
Departure time: Between 7:30 AM and 11:00 AM (to be confirmed upon booking)
Location: Perito Moreno Glacier
Age policy: Allowed only for ages 8 to 65
Difficulty level: Medium – requires good physical condition


Itinerary:

  • Departure from El Calafate to Bajo de las Sombras Port

  • 20-minute boat ride on the Rico Arm, approaching the glacier

  • Welcoming by mountain guides at the opposite shore

  • Distribution and fitting of crampons; groups of up to 10 people

  • Start of the ice trek, lasting about 1.5 hours

    • Observation of blue lagoons, deep crevasses, moulins and ice caves

    • Interpretation about glaciology, local wildlife and vegetation

  • Break on the glacier for photos and snacks (not included)

  • Return to the starting point and removal of equipment

  • Transfer to Perito Moreno walkways, with free time to explore the viewpoints

  • Return to El Calafate

  • Age restriction: 8–65 years old

  • Health restrictions: not suitable for people with heart or respiratory conditions, joint injuries, pregnancy, or obesity

  • Recommended gear: waterproof jacket and pants, hiking boots, backpack, gloves, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen

  • Bring your own water and snacks – no food service available during the tour
